While only taking a limited number of horses, the All American Quarter Horse Congress was good to us this year! We started out with Bill and SDP Hicarey, owned by Jay and Devan Klamon, champions of the $25,000 novice horse class. Bill also captured a third place check in that class on Tite Fittin Genes, owned by J3 Cutting Horses. Bill caught a check in the $5,000 novice on his and Jessica’s home-grown filly, A Sophisticated Plan.

Later in the week, Tite Fittin Genes and Bill brought home a reserve championship in the 5/6 open classic. Bill also had another classic open finalist, Christy Hughes, for Austin and Stacy Shepard.

Jessica Pierce and her mare, A Sophisticated Plan, made the non-pro derby finals. Mr. Mike Cagley, of J3 Cutting Horses, finished in the top 10 of the $35,000 non-pro class on See Da Cat. SDP Hicarey had another trip to the spotlight, finishing reserve champion in the $50,000 Amateur with her owner, Devan Klamon.

On to the Southern Cutting Horse Futurity. Tite Fittin Genes and Bill were once again open classic finalists, marking a 219.5 in a tough go-round. They didn’t have much luck in the finals, but were happy to be among some elite horses and riders competing there.

A Sophisticated Plan and Jessica tied to lead the go-round of the non-pro derby, finishing sixth in the finals and reserve of the limited non-pro. Melinda Polk and her horse, Dual Smart Dee Jay, were classic amateur finalists, finishing in fifth place.  It was Melinda’s first aged event finals! There was also much success at the night cuttings in Jackson, Mississippi.

These last few shows were a highlight for the year, as they put Bill Pierce over THE MILLION DOLLAR MARK IN LIFETIME EARNINGS! Congratulations, Bill!

A huge congratulations and shout out to all PCH customers and their horses for another great year, although there is still more showing for 2017!
